Urbino has given me so much in just four short weeks — beautiful views, endless cappuccinos, a chance to see a new part of the world. However, what I love the most about Urbino is all the incredible people I have met along the way. Every day here, I encounter a friendly, familiar face. The sense of community is contagious, and it’s humbling that I got the chance to both be a part of this community while also documenting it as a journalist. I’m thankful to have crossed paths with every person I met in Urbino — professors, sources, locals, peers — because each one positively impacted my time here. For this reason, I believe I grew as a journalist, photographer, and videographer and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you Urbino, for the experience of a lifetime.
The sky began to fade as time crept to 9 p.m. at the historic courtyard of the Casa della Poesia. Everything was in place — the rows of chairs filled with eager concertgoers; the grand piano centered at the front, gleaming under the overhead lights. Fifteen opera singers entered the stage in single file, their tuxedos and long dresses creating a sea of color.
